About the GL Consultancy

Aligning Workforce Capability with Organisational Strategy

An organisation's ability to achieve its vision, mission and strategic goals ultimately depends on the capabilities of its people.

Yet there is often a disconnect between strategic ambitions and the systems used to define, develop and evaluate workforce capability. Competency frameworks, learning programmes and assessment arrangements may operate independently rather than contributing to a coherent organisational purpose.

The GL Consultancy exists to help organisations close that gap.

We provide independent strategic advice and specialist expertise to help organisations align workforce capability development with organisational priorities, operational requirements and long-term performance objectives.

Our Strategic Approach

We believe effective workforce capability development begins with organisational purpose - not the selection of training programmes.

Strategic priorities should inform workforce capability requirements, which in turn shape occupational standards, competency frameworks, professional development, assessment and performance expectations.

Our approach considers these elements as an interconnected system. By strengthening their alignment, we help organisations establish more coherent development arrangements, improve governance and make better-informed decisions about workforce capability.

We combine strategic analysis, independent professional judgement and specialist technical expertise to develop solutions appropriate to each organisation's objectives, operating environment and long-term requirements.
